You mention the usability issue of colors looking too similar – I don’t know if you’ve read any of the angry threads elsewhere, but the colorblind issues are also as bad as any game ever made – the colorblind player from our group says that if Days of Wonder was intentionally trying to exclude colorblind players from the game, they couldn’t have done a better job. I’m not sure why DoW failed so badly on color usability issues on this one.

It might be a topic we’ll address on a future show. There definitely seems to be less consideration for that in the industry. I had an encounter with a publisher who freely admitted that their company doesn’t really care about these issues. It’s an interesting one.
